Mentions a passage concerning Shakespearean heroines in the lecture "Of Queen's gardens" in Ruskin's volume "Sesame and lilies." In response to Keese's question as to who the "unlessoned girl" is, Winter added the note "Ass! Why not read Sh.? Portia, of course..."
